Online Dating and BBWs: Blimps aren’t for Wimps
Nov 24, 2010 Online Dating News
Today, thin is still wins. Being thin is still in. While more and more people seem to be carrying around extra pounds, those who don’t carry the advantage in online dating and in life.
Proof of the thin advantage is everywhere. For women, the supermodels with airbrushed photos, perfect makeup, sexy wardrobe and beautiful hair are still the ones who are worshipped in the media, in the minds of most men, and in the mirrors of many women. The deliver messages that being thin is who, what, and how a woman needs to be to succeed. And also those who don’t conform to these beauty basics are basically unattractive, unworthy, and unwanted.
At one point or another, all (BBWs) big, beautiful women as they call themselves have either wanted or felt the need to fit into the thin crowd. They are pressured internally and externally by advertising, the diet and fitness industries, squeezing into things like clothes and airline seats, and dealing with how others view them and how BBWs view themselves.
We all see these images every day. They don’t just affect BBWs. They impact all of us, from preschool girls to professional men. Yes, these images greatly impact men.
If you think about it, it takes a big man to be in love or an online dating relationship with a BBW. This doesn’t mean a large or physically strong man to handle her size. It means it takes a man who is bigger, stronger, and more confident than all of the pressure and negativity that surely comes his way by being romantically involved with a BBW.
A man who is attracted to a BBW or in a sexual relationship with one will usually face both verbal and non-verbal criticism from his friends, family members, neighbors, co-workers and clients, even strangers. They will wonder what is wrong with him, why he is settling for someone clearly unacceptable, what is he thinking being seen with someone like that. He and she will be totally and harshly judged by appearance alone. They constantly face rejection. It is destination: disapproval.
BBWs and their partners have this difficult and courageous choice to carry in a relationship. And the wounds of rejection run even deeper. Many BBWs have experienced being targeted by men who view them as easy marks or receptacles for casual sex encounters. Therefore, they are often flat out suspicious of a genuine man who likes, loves, or is attracted to them for who they are as a whole – physically, emotionally, and spiritually. In one of the ultimate ironies, the man who wants to be in a dating relationship or marriage with a BBW more than likely has to fight really hard to be the women that many in our society today want little to do with.

Online Dating: Putting Rural Singles in Reach
Nov 23, 2010 Dating Websites, Online Dating News
Singles finding other compatible singles for dating can be challenging. There are all kinds of reasons for it, including schedule, resources, preferences, income, and so on.
These types of common challenges are often the case in major metropolitan areas such as crowded New York City, the widespread windy city of Chicago, and even Philadelphia, PA, the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection. But what can you do if you also have geography as a major obstacle for you in finding the love you want?
For those who reside in a rural area or small town, their dating options have always been rather limited. But online dating has changed all of that. Online dating sites put plenty of potential matches at their fingertips regardless of what remote corner of the world they are in looking for love.
For example, if you were a single man or woman who made your home in Window Rock, Arizona, you’d out there in desert country with more rocks than potential dating partners, and a limited window of opportunity. The similar situation exists from Alaska to Montana, Maine to New Mexico, and many countries around the world. Isn’t it cool that the internet allows for an online dating blog to write about this? Isn’t it cool that the technology behind online dating brings a world full of possibilities to all of the people in rural locations?
Sure, there are more hurdles for all of those singles who live in remote areas, such as managing the long travel distance with a relationship partner or one of the people having to relocate, but still, at least singles everywhere have options regardless of where they call home. And with every passing day, more and more single women and men are jumping online and dropping their online dating profiles into the world of online dating because they see it as their only genuine option for meeting someone. Good for them.

Online Dating News: Is 8 Minute Dating Long Enough?
Nov 22, 2010 Online Dating News
Eight minutes. You probably know a marriage or long term romantic relationship can change forever in that time frame. The question is –
Can you really build a foundation for a romantic relationship in eight minutes when there are plenty of distractions and plenty of competition?
Reasons Why Eight is Enough in Speed Dating Time
It is a fun, exciting, and unpredictable night out that beats staying home alone.
You are guaranteed to meet several different possible connections in a short period of time.
If you don’t like someone, you’re only required to visit with them for eight minutes.
It is much less risky than a blind date.
You have multiple opportunities to test “your story” or your “pick up lines.”
You may meet some new friends.
Reasons Why Eight Ain’t Enough for Speed Dating Success
It is not enough time to know whether or not you would enjoy a second meeting with a person.
Your personality type might not be right for it.
There is not enough
There is way too much competition for the most attractive men and women.
The people you meet in eight minute intervals are too similar. There is just not enough to differentiate between the rotating speed dating men and women.
Who would want to leave table of a person you really like in order to move on to the next person for whom you may not feel any interest or attraction?
One little spark can burn acres upon acres of forest. One little spark is all you need in eight minute dating. Many people believe all you need is an instant to know if a spark is there or at least the possibility of one being generated. Then, if there is mutual attraction and both the man and the woman feel a sense of a spark, an eight minute connection will go quickly and likely leave each of them wondering and wanting more time together. If you a believer of this philosophy, then the eight minute dating concept could be a fun and perhaps successful option for you to consider.

How to Find True Love & Luxury in Online Dating using Forbes
Sep 28, 2010 Online Dating Tips
Real value for free? Really? You bet. Here’s a valuable multi-tasking, money-making, online dating tip if there ever was one.
You already know not to settle for someone who isn’t your perfect match or at least a great match. And remember, whenever a bride and groom exchange wedding vows, they always speak of for richer or poorer. But since no one roots against richer, let me pose this question to you:
Why shop for singles in poverty when you can zero in on wealthy women and mega-rich men by zip code?
To do this, we follow Forbes Magazine. Believe it or not, Forbes can create better fantasies than Playboy or Playgirl. Forbes has just released its ranking of America’s Most Expensive Zip Codes. It’s a list that could give all new meaning to the term “Mail Order Bride” because it features the top 500 pockets for you to look for luxury while you’re looking for love.
Do Duarte!
The funny thing about the Forbes list is more than half of the richest zip codes come from the financially strapped state of California. Duarte, California, the small suburb near Los Angeles has the #1 ranked zip code in 91008. Forbes finds that the median cost for buying a home here in the most expensive housing market is $4,276,462. The air quality ain’t great but multi-million dollar mansion owners can afford to buy a mask if necessary.
Targeting Duarte for your online dating prospects would be a hunt for quality not quantity. There are only 1,391 legal residents in 91008.
In some encouraging online dating news and economic news, more than one out of three zip codes in the United States saw its median prices either increase or stay flat in the past year. However, the slump staggers on for high-end homes. The slide continues but at a slower pace. In the top 500 high-end zip codes, the average home price fell 5% to $1.2 million from last year. In 2009, the decline of the markets on saw a drop of 7%.
If you’re wondering about Beverly Hills, 90210, it came in at # 6. Somehow, my zip code of 85286 in Chandler, Arizona must have been forgotten by Forbes. Here is their list of the top 10 richest U.S. zip codes:
1. 91008 – Duarte, California
2. 94027 – Atherton, California
3. 90274 – Rolling Hills, California
4. 07620 – Alpine, New Jersey
5. 10014 – New York, New York
6. 90210 – Beverly Hills, California
7. 10065 – New York, New York
8. 94920 – Belvedere, California
9. 10012 – New York, New York
10. 93108 – Santa Barbara, California
Here’s a link to look at the full list by Forbes of the most desirable U.S. zip codes for wealthy online dating prospects.
Happy hunting!

Las Vegas Shows Good Odds for Online Dating
Sep 24, 2010 Dating True Stories
It is one of the great marketing slogans today. “What happens in Vegas…stays in Vegas!” As someone who lives within driving distance of Las Vegas and goes there for business at times, I will do my best to not violate that code by writing this online dating blog post. But here is the real truth of some of what I witnessed.
Oh my! I was powerfully reminded of how much there is to see in Vegas. I’m not talking about the amazing hotel casinos, or the mountain views, or the city lights at night. I’m just talking about the people!
For a long time I’ve said if there was a real job for “people watching,” I’d be a highly sought after employee. I never get tired of it. And since launching BlogOlineDating.com, this was my first trip to the city of sin with a keen eye on dating.
I checked in to the Hilton. Leaving the elevator as I was entering, was a balding, big-bellied white man. He was about 60 years old and stood about 5’7. He was proudly accompanying a heavily tattooed African-American woman. She looked to be about 25 years old and stood about 6’0. Add a few more inches for the heels on her feet and you can imagine how they really stood out. Call me crazy, but I suspected this couple took a different road to the concept of paid online dating service. If you know what I mean. Wink. Wink.
That night while walking the Wynn, I couldn’t help but notice a group of tall young scantily clad women posing for every drooling guy with a camera they could. The one brunette kept saying about her blonde friend, “She’s a bride, not a slut.” Meanwhile, the bride had her hands up the short skirt of the brunette and was rubbing her everywhere she wanted.
Furthermore, regarding lesbian related activities, there seemed to be a big run on large lesbian couples featuring women who looked very much alike and seemed very happy. Also, as I was my on my way to the men’s room in a restaurant, I heard the bartender tell two young passion filled women, “Hey girls, you can’t do that here! You’ve gotta go!”
I lost count of how many just married couples I saw. The Elvis lookalike cab driver even told me about a popular Rent-a-Wedding-Gown business that gets him multiple fares every single day. It makes you wonder how many of those couples met through online dating.
The friends of mine I met for a business brunch met through Match.com. They’ve been living happily together for more than three years now. At a business dinner that night, two of the fellas I’ve recently met told me they both have enjoyed online dating success. One guy met his current wife through Match.com. Another guy met his current fiancée through Chemistry.com.
So, in my first Vegas visit since starting this blog, I saw the odds were pretty good that many people there may have found love and romance through online dating. But I couldn’t find anywhere to get odds on the bet I wanted. I would have loved to bet against that one young bride to be. From what I saw, there’s no way her new marriage is going to last a lifetime.

Debbie Does Millions
Sep 10, 2010 Dating True Stories
Yep. This is an online dating blog. So what? It doesn’t mean all of the content has to just be about using the internet for hooking up. In fact, with this post, we’ll be more than hooking you up. It’s sharing a story that can lift you up above the threatening thoughts and frightening forecasts of these challenging times.
Yep. This is online dating blog. So what? It doesn’t mean there can’t be real substance about real love, real life, and real people who can be inspirational and motivational when it comes to both love and life. In fact, I’d like to tell you about one such person, a new friend I just made. Chances are, you’ve heard about her.
Yep. Debbie Allen hails from Gary, Indiana, the same longtime troubled town that welcomed Michael Jackson to the world. Yep. Debbie Allen never went to college. So what? It doesn’t mean she isn’t smart, isn’t successful, isn’t wealthy and financially free, and isn’t a great student of business, life, and love. She’s all of those things and more, saying she specializes in Shameless Self-Promotion, Entrepreneurial Business Development, and Wealth Creation.
Yep. I went to visit with Debbie Allen in Scottsdale, Arizona yesterday. I also got to experience her as a live speaker for the first time. It showed clearly why she is one of the top female speakers and stage presenters in the world.
Yep. Debbie Allen is heroic yet humble. She’s a woman who has built and sold multi-million dollar businesses. Some she admits she was totally clueless about when she started.
Debbie spoke from the heart about how a year or so ago she was stuck in her life. Like so many of us she had to change the channel of the negative chatter she had going on her head. She did. And let’s just say now that Debbie Allen is unstuck and thriving.
While the struggling world economy has even reached the upper class of public speakers, Debbie transformed herself in the past year into a popular international speaker with rock star status in some foreign countries. She managed to raise her fees in the past year as most others were lowering theirs. Can I hear an “Atta Girl” for that?
Yep. Debbie Allen’s professional career is riding a new wave of success. But her personal life is equally successful and inspirational. She had a best friend, business partner, and relationship partner in love, all wrapped up in one. Peter is a successful real estate training professional in Australia. He was here in the immigration hot bed of Arizona living with Debbie. Through a chain of interesting events, he wound up getting deported and was sent down back under. And once again, “what doesn’t break you makes you stronger.”
Peter and Debbie have managed to keep their love alive. They’ve improvised, adapted and overcome their blessing originally disguised as an obstacle. They have survived the incredibly long distance love relationship. They Skype with each other online every night. They travel together. Debbie will now be living about half of the year with Peter in Australia. They are happy together and growing together.
Debbie Allen is living proof you can have it all in life. If you would like to have it all in your life, perhaps you can give her a long look and listen. You can come here to visit Arizona’s Valley of the Sun from November 19-21, 2010 to attend a wonderful weekend seminar Debbie Allen and partners are hosting. Here is the web address for more information: http://www.millionaireentrepreneursummit.com/
Yep, whether it’s inspiration for your love life, career, or personal life, I think you’d get an awful lot out of your weekend visit to Arizona with Debbie Allen.

9-11 Newsman Turned Blogger Gives Free Online Dating Profile Reviews for September 11th Victims
Sep 8, 2010 NewsRoom
www.blogonlinedating.com offers online dating news, reviews, interviews, tips, and fun for singles. The new online dating blog is run by a single Daddy, who is an expert at internet content development through writing and video.
Chandler, AZ, September 8, 2010 – 9 years later, he still remembers. As a producer for ABC News, Thomas Baldrick covered the 9-11 tragedies for about six weeks straight. Most of it was in the New York City area. The rest of the time he spent in Shanksville, PA where Flight 93 crashed. Now, he’s using his online dating blog to show a little kindness to other singles like him who might be hurting on that unforgettable day.
The newsman turned Internet Content Development Specialist will put to use his creative and writing skills to help others on the upcoming 9th anniversary of 9-11. Eight years ago, he unveiled his “9-11 Wall of Hope” at the Shanksville Elementary School with Pennsylvania Governor, Mark Schweiker. The heartwarming and heartbreaking project paid tribute to children affected by the tragedies through showcasing their feelings, artwork, poems, and prayers.
Now in 2010, through his new online dating blog news site, blogonlinedating.com, Baldrick is offering a free online dating profile review and consultation to the first 20 singles personally affected by September 11th. Interested singles need only send an email to: blogonlinedating@gmail.com.
“As September 11th rolled around last year, I thought I’d gotten all of the tears out my system. Ouch, was I wrong,” admitted Baldrick. “This year, I feel grateful to have custody of my little boy on 9-11. My original goal was just to give him a very happy day. But then I got this idea to do something more. Since my online dating blog already offers 10 free tips for creating the perfect online dating profile, I decided to personally help 9 female singles and 11 male singles to improve theirs. Why 9 women and 11 men? Because guys need more help than women!”
Baldrick says he is not going to require official confirmation from men or women who request his help through this offer. All he asks is that they were truly impacted by 9-11 by losing a loved one or by being a survivor of the tragedies. “I’m sure we’ll talk on the phone and share experiences,” he said. “And if there are any American singles who would lie about something like this on such a sacred day in our country, then they would need far more help than I can give them through this small act of kindness.”
The online dating industry has been experiencing a rapid rate of growth. Most research shows the industry now has annual revenues of more than $ 4 billion dollars. The latest U.S. Census Bureau figures report there are some 96 million American men and women over 18 years of age who are singles. That equals 43% of the entire U.S. population.

Come Labor Day – Get to Work on Dating!
Sep 6, 2010 Online Dating Tips
While the official calendar says differently, Labor Day marks the end of summer in the minds of most of us. An online dating blog should look at this.
While the fall weather usually brings relief and a pleasant change outside, inside the minds of many men and women who are singles, Labor Day also means a shift in our thinking as we search for casual dating partners, sexual partners, or serious relationship partners. You can become more interested in finding a partner knowing what is ahead on the calendar.
Traditionally, if you hit this time of year, some of us might be looking for a special someone with whom to watch football games and create your own more exciting halftime show. For those of us who are unable to forget September 11th, that is certainly a day of reflection about where your life has gone, where it is at the moment, and where you want it to go.
But really, the next major milestone on the single’s calendar might be Halloween. That can be a really fun social event with a significant other. Next comes Thanksgiving. While turkey and all the fixings are often shared with family, having a person you’re dating can make everything taste better.
And then of course there is Hanukkah for some, and Christmas for the rest of us. All the wrapped presents in the world can’t replace the feeling of being wrapped in the arms of someone you love on Chrismas Eve or Christmas morning. So you can wait and ask Santa again for your perfect match. You can try to convince him you’ve been a good girl or boy. Needless to say, having someone to kiss at midnight on New Year’s Eve is really the only fireworks singles care about at all.
Or you can take a chance and put yourself out there in the world of online dating.
The internet is such an amazing tool. You use to search for things you want to find, things you want to buy, and things you want to learn about. So why not use online dating to find men or women to date, or find the perfect match of your dreams? You can’t use the internet to buy a person legally, but you can use it to buy an online dating service. And you can certainly jump into this process to learn more about yourself and other people.
So, if you don’t have an online dating profile, why not create one? If you already have a profile, why not give it a fresh look? AND SIGN UP FOR OUR 10 FREE TIPS TO CREATE YOUR PERFECT ONLINE DATING PROFILE!
Hopefully, either of these actions will lead you to the goals you have and the happiness you want in sharing all that life has to offer with a relationship partner. So, now that Labor Day has come, why not get to work on dating? Improve your social life before the long, lonely days and nights with Old Man Winter!

Online Dating & Chinese Soldiers: Looking for Trouble as Much as Love
Aug 28, 2010 Online Dating News
China is an oppressive government. One need not think beyond Tibet and Tiananmen Square for proof. While China’s leadership is not about liberation, the leadership of the Chinese Military, the People’s Liberation Army was not wrong in June 2010 for imposing internet bans on its soldiers.
“Seeking marriage partners, jobs or making friends through the public media is not permitted,” the Chinese regulation clearly states. “Going online in local Internet cafes is not permitted. Opening websites, home pages, blogs and message forums on the Internet is not permitted.” For this blog, we’ll just focus on them not being allowed to use the internet to cruise online dating websites.
It’s easy to pick on China here on this issue. And many of the critics doing so are followers who seemed to consider the sexual needs of Chinese soldiers, but not their safety. There were really good reasons why online dating was given the boot for those who have made it through boot camp. For starters, it was done to protect military intelligence. But it could also save lives.
Yesterday, the owners of a Chinese restaurant here in Arizona, were talking to me about the conflict since they knew I wrote this online dating blog. They felt for the soldiers who are primarily lonely and horny young males. They believed online dating would help Chinese soldiers, and that they should be able to use it like millions of civilians do every day.
Taking Advantage is the Problem
Most civilians can feel compassion for the personal battles all soldiers go through emotionally and socially. They see the value in members of any military taking advantage of online dating services and websites. The problem is there are plenty of sneaky online predators lurking at their computers ready to take advantage of lonely and horny soldiers to get information and/or money from them. On the flip side, there are scammers posing as soldiers to take advantage of lonely and horny civilians, too.
Loose Lips Do Sink Ships
You don’t need a fortune cookie to tell you the old wartime mantra “Loose Lips Sink Ships” is still alive and well today. The internet was the foundation for the recent “Wikileaks” scandal revealing massive amounts of Top Secret classified information on U.S. Military operations in Afghanistan.
The U.S. Military has embraced social media from generals to privates to promote the public relations messages it wants to put out there. However, it has tried to be smart about protecting anything that could create a breach in security.
It’s also important to recognize there have already been Black Hat investigations with U.S. Military personnel showing soldiers chatted with phony online dating prospects sharing seemingly innocent things such as locations and even helicopter takeoff times.
The “Wikileaks” matter is highly unusual. It’s usually the tiny leaks of mundane military information that are the problem. People who know what they’re doing and know what they’re looking for are the ones who can piece together little nuggets of knowledge that compromise security of military units and strategic operations.
The Israeli Military has no-nonsense reputation that matches its proven power. Even the Israeli Army was known to be forced to scrap a raid on a West Bank village after one of its soldiers revealed the time and location of the operation on his Facebook page. Talk about stupid and dangerous.
Underpaid and undersexed soldiers for sitting ducks today for online predators. Military operatives and spies know this. The Chinese Military Leaders know it, too. Horny guys in uniform will say just anything if it helps them get out of their uniform with someone else. Civilian guys are no different.
Now the Chinese Military is going back to basics in recognizing sexual companionship can definitely help with morale in the rank and file. It is saying that matchmaking for soldiers can be safely conducted through introductions from families, friends, or their work units.
China is just the latest country to wrestle with the issue of Internet freedoms such as online dating for its military. It is attacking the problem the way soldiers have done it for centuries. So, eHarmony will have to wait for Chinese soldiers. Now if only there were a popular website that created harmony and matchmaking between nations. Then we wouldn’t need to spend all of our days, months, and years preparing to go to war.

The Online Dating Home of the Brave and UGLY
Aug 24, 2010 Dating Websites
Okay. I know it. I may not be Brad Pitt. I may not be George Clooney. I may not be Robert Redford. I may be goofy. But I know I didn’t fall from the tippy top of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
So, what happens if you are ugly? Do you know it? Do you know admit it? Is there really anything such as ugly? As I regularly say about dating and marriage, “This is why Baskin-Robbins makes 31 flavors.” Everyone’s taste in beauty (or ugly) is different.
Now, there is a new website targeting men and women whose beauty may not be held too highly by most beholders. It is supposedly the first dating website for the “undateable.” Mainly it has been launched for the fat and ugly. Attractive chubby chasers are not invited.
The TheUglyBug Ball (Tubb) dating website is now live in London. It was just launched by online entrepreneur Howard James. If it is nothing more than a beautiful publicity stunt for promoting his other online ventures, Howard James has already been successful with this website.
Whether it is lard or legit, James describes the service he is offering through Tubb in an equally creative manner. ”It’s a sad fact that up to half of the United Kingdom is made up of ugly people,” said James. “Yet amazingly nobody has ever thought of providing an online dating service for them. Our site allows people who aren’t attractive, to engage with others like them without fear of ridicule for being ugly or excessively overweight.”
An internet dating site for the unattractive could be an attractive idea since it does serve a niche market. According to Howard James, it’s a big, fat niche in the U.K. However, it does generate some interesting questions. Here are five for consideration:
- Who would join an online dating website for only the ugly?
- Don’t even ugly people hope to upgrade with dating or sexual partners?
- If you did join the site, who do go for…the most ugly or the least ugly?
- What if you strike out with everyone on an ugly dating site? Then what?
- If you did find true love on this website, how could you tell anyone the story of how you met?
The possibilities are endless. Good, bad, or ugly, it’s one of the most beautiful aspects of the internet.

Sign of the Times: Will Work for Love & Sex
Aug 22, 2010 Dating True Stories
Online dating didn’t need any help from government. The degree of difficulty was already high. We’re in a multi-tasking world of texting while driving, and checking emails while checking out online dating profiles.
(Photo from billionswithzeroknowledge.org)
The men or women you open your heart to in efforts to connect can coldly dump you in an instant. You can be deleted while they’re sitting at a red light or checking out at the supermarket.
It’s A-B-C ya later. It’s “Bam you’re gone” by Blackberry. It’s “No I don’t think so” by iPhone.
Getting the attention of someone online to get an “at bat” to date them can often require a professional public relations effort. You’ve got to create the fantasy result. But real life isn’t always real pretty, especially in 2010.
When two people meet through online dating, they’re part actors and detectives, therapists and risk management analysts. They’re scoping each other out looking to see and hear if the real person resembles the online person they posted in words and photos. They’re looking to learn about who and where this other person is emotionally, mentally, spiritually, ethically, legally, and financially. They’re investigating to find out if there’s a possible match, and discovering the diamonds and dirt each person would be bringing into a relationship.
It creates a scenario that’s like where the Help Wanted section meets the Personal Ads…or where Dr. Ruth meets Judge Judy.
Many men and women today find their lives looking and sounding like the lyrics of a country music song. They lost their job their lost their wife or girlfriend, husband or boyfriend. So, they’ve courageously put themselves out there on the markets again, looking for work and looking for love – simultaneously. Having a partner to help you through tough times sure could make the struggling days and lonely nights a bit easier to manage.
So what’s a person to do, hold a sign at the traffic light near the local mall that reads, “Will Work for Sex and Love”?
Nah. While me thinks that might be a fairly effective strategy (since all you need is one), prostitution and panhandling are illegal in most places across the U.S. Besides, neither one is socially acceptable or the foundation for a lasting relationship. And anyway, where I live in Arizona, it’s 110 degrees every day standing on the street corners.
So, whether they realize it or not, many men and women doing online dating today are basically carrying signs and/or issues based on their emotions of trying to survive a struggling economy. These real world matters can affect one’s sense of self-worth, confidence, and approach to dating and relationships. They also affect how a potential partner may judge you.
Sadly, I’ve seen a few relationships crash and burn recently. They starred a man and a woman who shared magic between them. They were great individuals who came together to form an even greater couple. You couldn’t help but feel happy for them. But the economy was taking its toll on one of them, which quickly took its toll on both of them. The other person got scared. And the magic disappeared faster than you could say foreclosure or unemployment.
Today, the romantic stimulus can get kissed goodbye from a lack of economic stimulus.
People with a good work ethic don’t usually get lazy overnight. Situations change. Luck changes. Economies fluctuate. So, do housing prices. Even many of the mightiest and most successful men and women have had to eat huge servings of humble pie lately.
Whether you are doing online dating in Paradise Valley, Arizona, or Intercourse, Pennsylania, Christmas, Florida or Fort Bliss, Texas, there are plenty of good fish worth catching. Just because they may be down temporarily, doesn’t mean you abruptly count them out. Keep in mind, many relationships were either started in or survived the Great Depression. Ultimately, it’s what a person has in their heart, whether their personality, beliefs, likes and dislikes, dreams and feelings are compatible with yours.
As far as subjects of online dating today are graded, chemistry should count for more than accounting.
Who knows? You seeing enough of the goodness in a struggling man or woman to start a personal relationship with them could be all they need to rise up professionally and be better than ever. It’s also possible this person will truly appreciate you and work hard for your love.
Who knows? In this economy, you might be able to find the priceless love of your life at one temporarily low, low price. And nobody ever wants to pass up a great bargain.

Are “Cougars” in Dating Going Extinct?
Aug 19, 2010 Online Dating News
Oh say it ain’t so. A new study finds the phenomenon of “Cougars” is not a growing trend.
In fact, “Cougars” may be nothing more than a myth. Just because the older woman younger man celebrity relationships get plenty of attention thanks to Madonna and Demi Moore, and classic movies like “The Graduate,” the study says “Cougars” are not running wild!
The University of Wales Institute’s Cardiff School of Health Sciences does some very interesting research projects. In this particular one about online dating, it reveals how both women and men remain traditional in searching for their soulmate or ideal relationship partner.
For example, the study published in the Journal of Evolution and Human Behavior, showed most men desire attractive, young females. Often, they look for a much younger woman to be their partner as they try to feel better about their own aging process. Young men, aged 20 to 25, were targeting women their own age or slightly younger. None of this is by any means startling news.
Women on the other hand were different but no big surprise either. Generally, the over 40 women “Cougars” in the study weren’t on the prowl for “Cubs.” Instead, they were seeking an older (and hopefully a wealthier man). These findings clearly dispute the “cougar” craze that has been popular on TV shows and movies, such as “Sex and the City,” and Courteney Cox’s ABC Television series “Cougar Town.”
The comprehensive study involved 22,000 men and women doing online dating. They were from 14 different countries including Australia, Brazil, Great Britain, Canada, China, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Russia, and South Africa.
Psychologist Dr Michael Dunn led the study and analyzed the data on the age preferences of men and women using online dating sites. “The transference of female desire from older men to relatively younger men has been argued based on growth of the toy boy phenomenon,” Dunn said. “Our results show clearly that most women across all age groups and cultures, are targeting males either their own age or older. These findings are clearly supportive of evolutionary theory.”

How do You Make Your Booty Calls?
Aug 18, 2010 Dating Websites
Well, if you’re like 5 million other people, you do it as a registered member of OnlineBootyCall.com (OBC). The casual dating website is now celebrating and proudly announcing it has reached the major milestone of 5 million active members.
Since the launch of the online dating site back in 2003, Online Booty Call has given interested male and female singles the opportunity to make connections with others who are also looking for a relaxing “friendship with benefits.” It’s not designed for shopping for a “one night stand.” Nor is it designed for those men and women seeking a long-term relationship. Online Booty Call caters to people who are in the market for the casual dating area somewhere in between.
The website was recently revamped to make room for a feature called the “Booty Call Commandments” which says it gives members a better chance of finding the perfect booty call for their specific wants and needs. (No word if those commandments were also handed down through a burning bush or not).
“Booty Call” Trademark
OBC has also officially trademarked perhaps the most popular term or phrase in the world of modern online dating: booty call. It all began with the popular movie starring Jamie Foxx, Tommy Davidson, and Vivica A. Fox. Eventually, it led to another popular term, “Friends with Benefits.” Today, the company claims that the phrase “booty call” has taken on a life of its own. It no longer describes a casual sex encounter but rather a casual relationship.
No matter what you call it, the statistics show that millions of men and women are going online to make their own unique version of a “booty call.”
So how do you make yours?

A Review of a Virtual Home for Virgins
Aug 16, 2010 Dating Websites
Don’t get too intrigued here boys and girls. You’ll probably be more entertained by reading some of the previous posts.
You probably don’t qualify to read this article and act on it. But don’t worry about it. Most people today over the age of 18 don’t qualify either. Besides, you probably aren’t even really interested in the news this article has to offer. But that’s okay, too. Most people over the age of 18 wouldn’t really care either.
So, why is this article not for you? Because it deals with a segment of society that has fewer qualified applicants than the U.S. Marines. This article is written for the exclusive group of singles who are virgins.
YouAndMeArePure.com is an online dating site that describes itself as a friendly place for virgins to connect. It is the brainchild of Lety and Jose Colin, a married couple who themselves abstained from having sex until they were married. The intent of the site is to work as a tool for singles who value purity.
While this is an interesting niche concept for an online dating service, the business model seems to have some holes in it. Access to profiles is allegedly only granted to other virgins. However, personal profiles on the website also happen to be free to create. Despite the stern warnings of a policy that the site is for virgins only, how in the world would they know if you are or aren’t?
The founders of YouAndMeArePure.com say virginity is an important common aspect and precious gift between two people that can lead to close friendships or marriage. They say it brings bonding power that cannot be purchased with all the money in the world.
However, visitors to the website can purchase V-Cards which are literally designed for people to be proud card carrying virgins. Also for sale are gift certificates to the site, as well as upgrades in membership.
The website and its content appear as though they may have been created by a virgin web designer. Captions for the photos of couples on the site readily admit the people featured are models. It must tough to find virgins, let alone virgins who will allow their photos to be posted on an internet dating website.

Apple’s Sexual App: The iPhone
Aug 11, 2010 Online Dating News
Adam and Eve couldn’t resist it. Dating back to the beginning of time, they bit into the forbidden fruit and became very intimate as man and woman. Thousands of years later, the Apple is still too tempting to resist.
Apple is one of the richest companies in the world because of irresistible products like the iPad and iPhone. But apparently its customers are too tempting to resist sexually as well. A new study shows that on average, iPhone owners get more sex than people with an Android or Blackberry.
Wow… the iPhone from Apple really is a Smart Phone!
According to published statistics of a study done by the online dating website, OKCupid.com, female iPhone users had twice as many sexual partners by age 30 than female Android users, and 25 percent more than women who owned a Blackberry.
Men who are iPhone users also had more sexual partners at 30 than guys with a BlackBerry or Android, though the margins were slightly less. The unscientific but interesting study was done with 10,000 anonymous men and women SmartPhone owners.
Now I know better. I thought I was getting screwed by having Verizon Wireless and a Blackberry service. Not as much as men and women with an iPhone.

Online Dating, The Giving Tree, and Monica Lewinsky
Aug 8, 2010 Best of BOD
What does a children’s book have to do with an online dating blog you ask? Everything.
The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein is a classic for all ages and a classic for all times. The book tells the story of a boy and a very kind and generous tree. It covers the relationship as it evolves with age until they both are very old. The boy has become an old man. The tree has given him everything to the point of being nothing more than a good stump for sitting and resting.
Years ago at beautiful Martha’s Vineyard I saw Shel Silverstein. He was riding a bicycle. I was busy working as a television journalist covering the frenzy of the Clinton’s secluded family escape/vacation there. It was the day after President Clinton’s historic address to the nation regarding his affair or lack thereof with the woman with the most infamous stained dress in American history, Monica Lewinsky.
I could do nothing more than to thank Shel Silverstein, tell him how I admired his work, and how The Giving Tree made a difference in my life. It has and continues to do so.
My intuition just gave me the idea of starting this online dating blog. (Or at least it was the first time I heard it!) In either case, I listened and immediately followed up on creating it.
Never in a million years did I think my life would turn out the way it did. I didn’t expect to be a 40-something, single Daddy living in Arizona writing a blog that shares a voice about love, life, and finding a great relationship. But here I am doing exactly that. Perhaps the reason I often joke about how my life is living proof God has a sense of humor is because I believe it. : )
Truth be told, I can tell you The Giving Tree is on my mind and in my heart in starting this blog. I suppose it’s part of my own personal starting over…yet again.
But I believe I know how the universe works. The more you give in life, the more you get. If I help others through this blog, and am in some way instrumental in a man or a woman experiencing personal growth or finding their ideal relationship partner, then that alone would be a valuable reward.
The ultimate gift in doing this online dating blog would be if in some way it helped me to attract the woman of my dreams who I could love and give to until I am an old man who provides her with a wrinkled, but safe and comfortable place to rest.

Online Dating: It is what it is!
Aug 8, 2010 Best of BOD
“It is what it is. We know what it is.” Starting a new blog is a formal event in the informal communication of social media. You get only one chance to write a first post, and one opening line to compose for it. I hoped to launch BlogOnlineDating.com with a memorable message that was simple and social, but also special and playful.
Yes, I’m a true romantic at heart. But I’m also a “guy’s guy” with a sense of humor and I like being a member of both clubs. So, after spending time carrying the question about what to write for a first but lasting impression with myself and you, I reached out to an old, familiar friend.
Martin Scorcese’s classic mobsters movie “Goodfellas,” is one of my all-time favorites. I know basically every line from the film. In one scene, Henry Hill (played by Ray Liotta) is told by his bosses, Paulie Cicero (Paul Sorvino) and Jimmy Conway (Robert DeNiro) that his cheating on his wife Karen ( Lorraine Bracco) by moving into a love shack has gone too far. He has to go home to her right away. He has to keep up appearances. As only DeNiro can do, he simply describes the situation of Henry’s love on the side by saying, “It is what it is. We know what it is.”
And so it goes with the world of online dating. It is what it is. We know what it is. In starting this online dating blog, I could have posted another classic Conway/DeNiro line such as, “Always keep your mouth shut and never rat on your friends.” But it wouldn’t have been as positive. One of the rules to attract others through online dating sites is to be positive. You don’t have any interest in falling in love with a negative partner who’s a whiner, complainer, blamer, or professional victim, right? (Yeah I know, where was I 20 years ago when you have read this? Lol!)
When it comes to online dating it is what it is. The internet is the new “Fix me up with your friend” or virtual singles bar. Let’s enjoy the journey. Hopefully, participating in this blog will be a part of your journey for as long or short as your search for love and a relationship goes. In conclusion, I’ll be positive and look at the bright side. I may attract the lovely woman of my dreams with this blog post even though I’m writing it while sitting here in my underwear. That’s only possible through the technology of online dating. Thank you. It is what it is!
