The Naked Truth of Teri Hatcher’s Out of the Shower Photos

Yes. Teri Hatcher took it all off for her Facebook page. Her makeup that is. But of course you knew I was talking about makeup and not clothes, right?
Now, let’s get to the Naked Truth of it all.
Hollywood sex symbol Teri Hatcher is brave, bold, and beautiful. But as hard as it may seem, let’s try to look beyond her sex appeal. Let’s appreciate how smart she is and how savvy. I’m talking about being social media savvy and internet marketing savvy.
As soon as I heard (not saw) the 45-year old actress posted photos of herself fresh out of the shower on her Facebook page, I immediately asked myself, “Why? Why would she do that?” I know to get people talking (and looking) but why? This was an attraction beyond when Teri Hatcher appeared on the TV series, Seinfeld, as Jerry’s girlfriend, Sidra, in the Breast Implant episode.
News of the 8-photo spread, spread across the internet a few days ago like a Southern California wild fire in the middle of summer. Supposedly, the self-portraits from her bathroom showing her in only a towel were done and posted online to quiet the critics who keep claiming her body is an artificially but professionally enhanced “Made for TV” project.
The Desperate Housewives star was allegedly desperate to prove a point. She’s All-Natural…ladies! (Like guys wouldn’t check out the photos, too?)
Titled “Oy with Botox,” the actress wrote, “Out of the bath getting ready for bed. Thought about all those damn critics of my face. Love it or hate it, my face that is, no surgery, no implants, no matter what “they” say. Decided I’d shoot myself in to reveal some truths about “beauty” and hope it makes you all easier on yourself.
Did I every toy with fillers or Botox over the years? yes. Tell me does this look Botoxed to you?
Yes I am alone in my bathroom naked in a towel on behalf of women everywhere trying to make a point. Women YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.
I can be mad, or confused or sad and tired. Julia Roberts had that same vein in her forehead in Eat Pray Love. Proud of Julia for being a real woman on a real journey.
45 year old me. Just me wanting to teach that all those glam versus trash pictures of celebs are about LIGHTING. It’s not makeup it’s not suregery [sic] or botox its LIGHT.”
I agree. Lighting is everything in Hollywood. I also agree Teri Hatcher had a great message for women, encouraging them to look for and appreciate their own natural beauty.
Where I disagree with the stunning Ms. Hatcher is when she claims she wasn’t expecting to create an internet stir by posting the photos. Huh?
Teri Hatcher is no fool. And she is no virgin to publicity. She has Facebook and Twitter pages with thousands of followers. She has an agent, publicist, etc. etc. She’s seasoned and successful. If she knew people were blabbing about her doing Botox, she also knows what is being said about her online and in the press.
Are we supposed to believe Teri Hatcher has never Googled herself or has no idea what she’s doing online? C’mon now. Next, I’m supposed to believe Superman would have no interest in her in real life?
EW says Teri Hatcher just sent them the following statement: “There was absolutely no forethought of timing or result. I thought I was sharing with my very new and budding fan Facebook page. I didn’t even know press could lift stuff and write about it, but bottom line, I’m glad I’ve prompted a conversation that I hope brings women closer to self-acceptance.”
Here comes the “plug” she slipped in for her website. “They can check out more issues for women on GetHatched.com. I never made a choice really to stop using Botox, and I don’t judge those who do. But I did look up Monday and see wrinkles, and I decided it was time to see beauty there too.”
Oh yeah, then there’s the matter of her TV series. Perhaps it’s just a coincidence that Desperate Housewives is about to begin its 7th season on ABC. The timing of Teri Hatcher’s latest round of publicity won’t hurt ratings, right?
This season’s newcomer to the series is another stunning beauty, Vanessa Williams. I’ve met her when she wasn’t wearing makeup. She’s still beautiful then, too. Maybe the world will get a peek inside her bathroom next?
